Thursday 23 October – Launch of Southwold’s Concert Series
The evening of Thursday October 23rd sees the launch of the Southwold Concert Series, which, according to its artistic director, undertakes to bring regular Wigmore Hall quality concerts to Southwold. This launch event will be held in support of the Suffolk Foundation, the county's charitable trust, and has the added attractions of a pre-concert reception in the Cellar & Kitchen and formal post-concert dinner at The Swan. Tickets £15 for reception and concert, £65 with the addition of three course dinner - there are only 80 places available at The Swan so please book early to guarantee your place. A special 20% discount on B&B will also be available for concert-goers. Advertising agency Spring is sponsoring the launch concert, which will take place in the beautiful surroundings of St. Edmund's Church and features glorious piano, string and vocal pieces, including the premiere of a piece by Nathan Williamson. Thursday 13 November – Fine Wine Dinner with world-renowned Sommelier Gerard Basset
We are proud to present a unique opportunity to try some of the world’s finest wines in the company of Sommelier Gerard Basset, Master of Wine John Atkinson and Adnams’ Wine Buyers Alastair Marshall and Rob Chase.
Owner and director of TerraVina in Hampshire, Gerard was formerly co-founder, co-owner and director of the Hotel Du Vin group. Rob Chase and Alastair Marshall will talk you through the wine selection during the evening, and after dinner Gerard will talk of his life in wine and no doubt supply some memorable anecdotes.

Saturday 29 November – Winemaker Lunch
By now, it probably has not escaped your attention that there is a new star in the wine firmament. Monty Waldin has just spent the past year creating his own biodynamic wine, and has been followed by a TV crew in the process. ‘Château Monty’ will be screened on Channel 4 from the 4th September, so here’s your chance to join Monty for a fascinating and entertaining voyage into the world of biodynamic winemaking and the creation of Monty’s Red. Friday 5 December – Switch On of Christmas Lights
Enjoy Southwold’s traditional ‘Switch On’ of the Christmas lights. Partake in the music, shopping, fun and frolics in the Market Square and of course the ‘Switch On’ by Father Christmas and friends. This year our new Head Chef, Rory Whelan will be showing off his talents by offering a sumptuous five-course dinner and coffee. To enhance the festive mood, seating will be party-style in the Dining Room, Drawing Room and the Southwold Room. A group of ten or more secures your own private table. Table-side entertainment will be mingling among the tables throughout the evening. The evening kicks off at 8:30pm. Tickets are £40.00 per person. Full payment is required on booking. Friday 13 December – Market Day
Join us for an exciting range of festive foods and gifts from Adnams and our local suppliers. A festive BBQ, carol singing and an Adnams Bar serving wines, beers and mulled wine will add to the atmosphere. Located in the yard of The Crown Hotel. Starts at 12noon until 5pm.
Wednesday 24, Thursday 25, Friday 26 December – Christmas Package
Arrive any time after 2.30pm. A bottle of port awaits you in your room on arrival and Cream Teas will be served between 3:30 - 5:00pm. Mingle in the Reading Room with a glass of bubbly and canapés at 7:00pm. A delicious five-course dinner will follow along with entertainment provided again by Toni Warne. Wake up on Christmas morning to Bucks Fizz at breakfast and then a brisk walk along the seashore to work up an appetite. A traditional five course Christmas luncheon will be served between 12:00pm and 1:45pm (you will be asked for a preferred time at check in). Pre dinner drinks at 7:30pm followed by The Swan’s Christmas Buffet at 8:00pm. There will be quiz night in the Bar for those wishing to exercise the mind. Boxing Day begins with a full English breakfast and afterwards we gather in the Drawing Room for games (including Jumbo Jenga) and tea or coffee. A festive Boxing Day Luncheon will be served in the Dining Room and Southwold Room. A magician will be visiting the tables throughout lunch. The evening brings a light two-course supper followed by Matthew May’s night of swing music. Packages start at £670 per person for a Standard Room based on double occupancy. Enjoy a delicious five-course dinner served in the annexe to the Main Dining Room, the Southwold Room at 7pm for £47.00 per person. Full payment will need to be received by 3rd November. Any alterations made after this date will result in a forfeit of the full price.
Thursday 25 December – Christmas Day
A traditional five-course Christmas luncheon will be served in the annexe to the Main Dining Room, the Southwold Room between 12.00pm and 1.45pm for £85.00 per person. Full payment will need to be received by 3rd November. Any alterations made after this date will result in a forfeit of the full price.
The Crown will be celebrating Christmas with a delightful four course lunch for £72.50 per adult or children 14 and under at £36.25 per child. Seating times will be 12 noon or 3:00pm. A £10.00 per person deposit will be taken at time of booking and the remaining balance to be received by 25 November at which time alterations will result in forfeit of the full price.
Tuesday 30 and Wednesday 31 December - New Years Eve
