A worktop and three lone socks...

By Sarah Groves, also posted in News on

The Adnams Beach Clean volunteers, June 2017A very big thank you to everyone who joined the Adnams team on Saturday for this summer's beach clean. Together, we picked up 21 sacks of rubbish. Unfortunately, although at first sight the beach appears clean, a closer look reveals public litter, marine debris and unidentifiable plastic waste. One of our young volunteers uncovered the remnants of a barbecue, including a knife, sharp metal pieces, nails and broken glass bottles. Not pleasant and very unsafe for all beach users. We also found a golf ball, three odd socks (why is there always a sock!?), a Christmas hat and a kitchen worktop. Yes, an entire worktop... Join us for our next clean in September Our next clean is on Saturday 16th September 2017 and is part of the Marine Conservation Society's Great British Beach Clean weekend. Email Benedict Orchard to sign up and to register your interest for future cleans. Thanks again, you're all amazing. See you soon! You can view photos of the beach clean on Flickr.
