Clic sargent Pennies total webWe're delighted to announce that our Adnams store customers have raised £10,662.67 for CLIC Sargent by donating at the till via Pennies, the electronic charity box.

From August to October 2015, Adnams Store customers were able to to round up their purchase to the nearest pound and donate the change to support CLIC Sargent’s work with young cancer patients aged 0-24 and their families.

Sarah Fisk, Corporate Communications Assistant at Adnams says: “Pennies is a quick, simple and great way to help raise much needed funds. Most customers shopping at our Stores pay by card, and Pennies gives every card-payer an option to round up their purchase and donate the change to charity by just one press of a button.

Since first adopting the Pennies scheme in late 2012, Adnams customers have raised a staggering £104,000 for good causes.

CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Daisy Turner says: “I would like to thank the staff in each of the stores who gladly promote the Pennies scheme, and to all the customers who have pressed “yes” to donate their pennies to support CLIC Sargent.

“I would urge other businesses to consider implementing the technology as it is the easiest way for customers to donate to great causes and really make a difference to the community.

CLIC Sargent’s Service Team based in Ipswich and Addenbrooke’s Hospitals consists of specialist nurses, play specialists, social workers and youth workers who provide clinical, practical, financial and emotional support to help local children and young people cope with cancer and get the most out of life.

Adnams customers can donate at the till using Pennies at the following stores: Southwold, Woodbridge, Bury St Edmunds, Aldeburgh, Hadleigh, Norwich, Harleston, Holkham, Holt, Saffron Walden in Essex and Stamford in Lincolnshire.
