Adnams Pomme Pom Apple Spirit

Adnams Pomme Pom apple spirit bottle illustrationAfter three years’ gentle maturation in oak casks, Adnams Pomme Pom apple spirit, made from Hogan’s English Cider, is now available in 70cl bottles (£34.99) in our stores and online. England has a long history of apple growing and despite the loss of many acres of orchards over the last few decades many heritage varieties survive, each with its own distinctive range of colours, flavours, textures and shapes. Hogan’s Cider is made from the juice of over 30 different English apple varieties which are specifically selected for making into cider. The apples are grown in the three counties of Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire and made into cider by Hogan’s Cider in the Malvern Hills. John McCarthy, Adnams Distiller, distilled a batch of Hogan’s English Cider in our small-batch Copper Pot stills. The resulting high-strength spirit was then transferred to new European oak casks to mature for over three years. It was then ‘cut down’ to bottling strength to 40% abv. Adnams Pomme Pom is a smooth and rich apple spirit with generous notes of vanilla, pepper and cinnamon. It’s delicious served neat over ice or accompanied by a splash of Ginger Ale.
