Adnams Winter Cocktails

By John, also posted in News on

John with a Gimlet cocktailNow that the Christmas holidays are nearly upon us there should be, in theory at least, more time to get creative with your drinks. I often experiment with making cocktails from our award-winning spirits at home, and here are three of my favourite winter cocktails. Each one is easy to make, and some are stronger than others, so if any of the recipes aren't quite to your taste it's easy to tweak the measures to personalise your drink. You may create a new 'house favourite' this Christmas!

Adnams Apple Custard

Adnams apple custard1 measure (25ml) Adnams Pomme Pom Oak-aged Apple Spirit 2 large bar spoons De Klok Advokaat Sugar syrup to taste Adnams Prosecco Add ice to your cocktail shaker, then add Adnams Pomme Pom and De Klok Advokaat. Shake vigorously - the longer you shake your drink, the more water you'll end up adding as the ice begins to melt. Sieve your drink into a cocktail glass and top up with Adnams Prosecco and sugar syrup to taste. Garnish with an apple fan.

Ginny Bucks Fizz

Ginny Bucks Fizz1 measure (25ml) Adnams Copper House Dry Gin 1 measure orange juice Adnams Prosecco Add ice to your cocktail shaker and then add your Gin and orange juice. Shake vigorously. Sieve your drink into a tall Champagne glass and top up with Adnams Prosecco (or Champagne if preferred). Garnish with a long strip of orange peel which is formed into a spiral by wrapping it around a long bar spoon or a skewer.

Gimlet

Gimlet cocktail2 measures (50ml) Copper House Dry Gin 1 measure sugar syrup 1 measure freshly squeezed lime juice Firstly, slightly bruise the whole lime by rolling it on the table using the palm of your hand - this will help you extract the juice. Slice your lime in half and squeeze it to produce around a measure of juice - you may prefer more. Add ice to your cocktail shaker, add the lime juice, Gin and sugar syrup. Shake vigorously. Double strain the mixture into a cocktail glass and garnish with a lime wheel. Cheers! Adnams Winter Cocktails
