Suffolk AONB cycling guidesThe Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in Partnership with Adnams is delighted to launch a series of 5 new cycle routes. The routes range from 7 to 27 miles and take in the nationally important landscape of the Suffolk Coast as well as some of Suffolk’s most iconic landmarks.  In addition to route descriptions the guides detail plenty of stopping of places for refreshments and places of interest. The guides follow the popular ‘Explorer Guide’ format and provide comprehensive mapping and local information. The guides describe routes throughout the AONB from the shores of the Stour Estuary to the internationally important nature reserve at Minsmere.  They are available as a download from the AONB website. The five cycle explorer guides are: Alton Water & Pin Mill Dunwich & Minsmere Rendlesham Forest & Shingle Street Snape & Orford Cycle Woodbridge & Waldringfield. For many years Adnams has supported the AONB team efforts to get people out enjoying the Suffolk Coast, its landscape, wildlife and hospitality. The guides were launched at The Eels Foot, in the Suffolk Coast & Heaths AONB, that is a well-used stopping off point for cyclists or a place you can hire a bike to start your new healthy adventure. Suffolk AONB cycle guide Snape & OrfordCllr David Wood, chairman of the Suffolk Coast & Heaths AONB Partnership says, "These new guides are an excellent way to help you get out and enjoy what the Suffolk Coast has to offer and will contribute to the health and well being of residents and tourists alike.  The new guides will help us deliver a tourism strategy on the Suffolk Coast that will help build the local economy while not damaging natural beauty of the area." Cllr James Finch, Suffolk County Council Cabinet member for Highways and Transport added, "I am delighted that the new explorer cycle guides will help people enjoy the fantastic Suffolk Coast and that Adnams have once again shown the way in supporting projects to enhance the visitor experience in Suffolk and help build our local visitor economy." Emma Hibbert, Adnams Director of Marketing says, “Adnams has long been a supporter of Suffolk Coast and Heaths and is proud to have many of our shops and pubs within this area of outstanding natural beauty. Adnams has, for some years now, supported many cycle events from local rides through to the elite races of the Women’s Tour and Tour of Britain. We are delighted that we can bring these two fantastic initiatives together in sponsoring the Cycle Explorer Guides, which we are sure will be incredibly popular with the growing number of cyclists living in and visiting our beautiful region.” The cycle guides are designed to help residents and visitors get out and enjoy one of England’s finest landscapes, the Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
