Adnams SIlver medal-winning spirits, North Cove Vodka and First Rate GinAdnams Copper House Distillery has triumphed again at this year’s World Spirits Competition in San Francisco after being awarded two Silver medals for our North Cove Oak-aged Vodka and First Rate Gin. Commenting on the success, Chairman Jonathan Adnams OBE said, “We are absolutely delighted to have picked up two more awards at this world-class competition. Our Copper House Distillery is still relatively new, so we are thrilled to have continued our success after receiving three medals at last year’s awards. To receive an award of this kind again gives us great pleasure and confidence that our distillery products are being judged so positively on a world stage. “Since it opened in November 2010, we have had more than 2,500 visitors tour the distillery and there certainly appears to be great interest in learning more about the history and techniques of distilling. Our range of Gins, Vodkas and Liqueurs are also selling well through our Cellar & Kitchen stores and online. Silver Medal 2012“In mid May we will be launching our Spirit of Broadside, a 43% abv Eau de Vie distilled from our famous Broadside beer. Broadside was first brewed in May 1972 to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Battle of Solebay, the first naval battle of the ‘3rd Dutch Trade war’ between English and Dutch fleets, fought off Southwold.” Now in its 12th year, the annual competition took place over four days at the end of March in San Francisco. The judging panels comprised of spirits experts from noted restaurants and hotels, well-known spirits journalists from major national media, spirits buyers for large purveyors and spirits consultants. Judging is based on a blind, consensual procedure ensuring competitive integrity, making this competition the most reputable and recognised competition in the spirits industry.
