Entertain in style with Christmas cocktails...

By Sarah Groves, also posted in News on

jess callaghanJessica Callaghan from The Swan, Southwold, has created four delicious Christmas cocktails that can be enjoyed at The Swan's cocktail bar inside The Still Room restaurant. If it's not possible for you to visit The Swan this season, then why not have a go at making them at home? You don't have to deploy the sleek moves of Tom Cruise in the classic 80s film Cocktail to make a great drink, but it's fun and its Christmas, so shake your thang!

25ml Adnams East Coast Vodka An espresso coffee (can be hot or cold) Chocolate syrup 50ml Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur Add the coffee, Baileys and East Coast Vodka to a cocktail shaker that's been filled with ice. Pour a circle of chocolate syrup (the same circumference as your martini glass) on to a saucer and coat the rim of the glass with it. Sieve the contents of the cocktail shaker into your glass. If you've got some chocolate powder then dust some over the top, it looks great!

Gingerbread House

50cl Adnams East Coast Vodka Cinnamon stick 50ml Gingerbread syrup 12.5ml lemon juice 50ml cream Gingerbread man as garnish Soak a cinnamon stick in the vodka, ideally overnight. Add the cinnamon-infused vodka, gingerbread syrup, lemon juice and cream into a cocktail shaker that's been filled with crushed ice. Pour into a large tumbler and pop a little gingerbread man in the glass.

Lemon Meringue Pie

Shake then strain into a tumbler and add some ice, then squirt some cream over the top and add a maraschino cherry for a splash of colour (and for those with active imaginations, also looks just a bit like Rudolph's nose!).

Cranberry Fizz
