Ghost Ship has a hauntingly good new look

By Sarah Groves, also posted in News on

Coming soon! The same great beer, but with a design refresh!

We know many of you love Ghost Ship, and we thought it's the perfect time to work on a refreshed design to keep it looking up-to-date and improve its standout on the bar and in stores.

Adnams Head of Creative, Jess Turner, and Lee Cook and the team at Cookchick design have evolved the look rather than reinvent it, so Ghost Ship will still clearly be recognised by those who know and love it already.

Adnams Head of Creative, Jess Turner, explains the design changes. The beer inside remains exactly the same:

"The Ship: We have redrawn the ship, but keeping the silhouette style. It has more movement and detail, and therefore a more dramatic and eerie feel.

Removed the Adnams Blue Sail: We have dropped the sail graphic, which has given the ship illustration more space, and has allowed us to have a direct link between “Adnams” and “Ghost Ship”, so you can now read this as one unit of text.

Citrus Yellow: We have brought in a pop of bright yellow, to bring freshness and standout to the design, and to hint at the citrus flavours made by the citra hops.  On the bottle, the

neck collar has a strong hit of yellow, and the pump clip’s outer ring is yellow, all to help them stand out.

Colour Palette: The colour palette has remained the same, but we have brightened the design up a little bit, again to strengthen stand out and to add more freshness."

Let us know your thoughts, we hope you love it as much as we do! You should start to see the new design on bottles,  cans and boxes from end-June onwards with a new pump clipdesign for cask launching late summer.
