Customers browsing the Bury storeWe're delighted to announce the opening of a new store in the historic market town of Bury St Edmunds. Inside the store customers can find an array of Adnams’ award-winning beer, wine and hand-crafted spirits, alongside a selected range of kitchenware items and gifts. Located within an historic building at 43A Cornhill, the store is within easy reach of the popular Buttermarket. Bury St Edmunds is the second Adnams store to include a café, which is open until 7.30pm daily to eat-in or take away. The menu features deli-style dishes sourced locally, all of which go perfectly with half a pint of Adnams beer or a glass of wine. The Adnams tasting bar plays an integral role in the store and offers customers the opportunity to ‘try before you buy’. Adnams’ knowledgeable and friendly staff are on hand to offer advice and guidance to customers and talk about our award-winning range of beers, spirits and wines. The team is led by Tom Crittenden, manager and Tom Legge, assistant manager, who are both passionate about Adnams and excited to be involved in our latest retail adventure. Previously manager at the nearby Waterstones, Crittenden is responsible for the day-to-day running of the store, alongside Legge, who brings with him a wealth of knowledge, having previously held the role of tasting room manager at the Marianne Estate and sales manager at Warwick Estate, both in South Africa. Neil Griffin, head of retail at Adnams, commented, “Bury St Edmunds was a natural choice for us when we set about opening a new store in the west of the county. We’re really excited to be here and it is an area we have earmarked for a long time. Located in the heart of the bustling market town, there is a great array of independent shops, as well as high street chains, nearby. The new store will offer everything you would expect from an Adnams shop, with the addition of a café, which serves local produce simply prepared, along with recommended drinks pairings." Emma Hibbert, marketing director at Adnams, commented, “The opening weekend was a huge success with the store team welcoming both locals and visitors to the town. Bury St Edmunds is a fantastic location for our latest Adnams store and we are looking forward to a busy festive season." You can view photos from the opening day on Friday 9th October on Flickr.
