How you can support children’s hospice Nook appeal with Pennies this Christmas

By admin, also posted in News on

nookYou really can make every penny count this festive season by donating a few pence to charity when you shop with Adnams. Pennies, the digital charity box, is offered to customers making a purchase both in Adnams stores and online at, giving you the chance to round up to the nearest pound when paying by card. From November 2016 to January 2017, donations will benefit East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH), specifically supporting the charity’s Nook Appeal which supports children and young people with life-threatening conditions. The Nook Appeal is the charity’s £10 million vision to transform children’s palliative care services across Norfolk, including building a new hospice called The Nook. Rozi Collier, Marketing and Communications Manager at Pennies said: “We’re thrilled to help Adnams support such a worthy local cause in EACH.  Adnams’ customers have been giving their small change a big purpose using the digital charity box since 2012, and Adnams' staff have chosen another fantastic charity for these micro-donations to support this Christmas.” Sarah Fisk, Corporate Communications at Adnams, added: “Pennies is such a great way to raise money for charity, and we’re delighted to be able to support East Anglian Children’s Hospices over the festive period this year. Our customers are always so supportive and generous and we know the money raised will make a big difference to families in the region.” Previous charities supported by Adnams’ customers’ donations include Big C: from August to October 2016 over £10,000 was raised for the Norfolk cancer charity. EACH has outgrown its current hospice in Quidenham Norfolk, due to the changing and more complex needs of the children and young people they care for, which has determined the need to move to a purpose-built and far more accessible site. The Nook will be built on a five-acre woodland site in Framingham Earl just south of Norwich. Lotte Rietveld, EACH Corporate Development Manager, said: “We are thrilled that our Nook Appeal has been chosen by Adnams to benefit from their Pennies donations. A partnership with a household name such as Adnams will only help to further promote our vital appeal and we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at the company for their continued support of EACH. This announcement is particularly special given the time of year the scheme is running - Christmas is such an important time to all the families that EACH supports. “All the money raised will help to take us a step further to making our vision for children’s hospice care in Norfolk a reality. Our purpose-built hospice, The Nook, will offer our families greater choice, accessibility and will transform our care to meet the changing needs of the children we support. It will also allow us to reach out to even more families who need our support at an unimaginably difficult time.” For more information on EACH and the nook appeal please visit:
