Saronsberg Provenance LabelWith over 400 wines, we've got everything from traditional, minimalist to, err, how do we put it, 'exuberant', label designs on our list. We like to think that wine labels are little 'windows into the soul' of a winery. Sit comfortably, clear your mind of all distractions, take a deep breath and look at this label. What does it mean to you? Don't worry, this is no Rorschach inkblot test! Tell us what you think this label by artist Paul du Toit is all about and we'll send your interpretation to the team at Saronsberg in South Africa. They're winemakers, not psychologists, and are looking forward to reading your thoughts. The prize of a mixed case of Saronsberg wine goes to the interpretation that comes closest to the artist's intentions! Here's a little bit of background information, although don't worry, we're not implanting any influencing thoughts on to you (or are we?). Saronsberg is situated in the beautiful Tulbagh Valley, in Western Cape Province about 120 km north-east of Cape Town. The winery is surrounded by a horse-shoe of mountains and the only access to the valley is from the south side, which allows the prevailing south-eastern summer wind to generate airflow and cool the valley, providing optimum conditions for the production of healthy, ripe grapes. The soils here are remarkably variable, and the viticultural team have worked hard to match grape varieties to the right sites. A marriage of technology and winemaking craft and a clear focus on achieving optimum quality has created a diverse and interesting suite of multiple award-winning wines. You can see our range of Saronsberg wines here. Perhaps not surprisingly, judging by the Provenance labels, the team at Saronsberg is very interested in art, in fact there's a gallery at the winery. If no response is received within this time frame, the prize entitlement will be withdrawn and the Promoter reserves the right to award the prize to a runner up.
