Pennies, the digital charity box, gives every card-paying customer the option to round-up their purchases to the nearest pound and donate the extra change to charity. We’re delighted that Pennies is now available in the checkout area of our online store, giving online shoppers the opportunity to donate too.

Thank you – over the last three months you’ve raised over £10K for the charity Pancreatic Cancer UK

A huge thank you to every single customer who has donated via Pennies at Adnams stores. Collectively, you’ve raised an amazing £10,000 for the charity Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Our current Pennies charity is Big C

Big C logoThe charity supported for the next three months by the Pennies scheme in Adnams stores and online is Big C. Sarah Fisk, Adnams Corporate Communications, explains why the charity was selected: “We’re delighted to be supporting Big C through the Pennies scheme. We are already working with Big C through the #cancerconversations campaign in pubs across the region, and this allows our support to cross into our stores and online channels too. Big C carries out vital work in Norfolk for people affected by cancer through its information centre, provision of medical equipment and support of research, and securing funding is vital to ensure this can continue.” This Norfolk-based charity aims to raise awareness of cancer with their summer ‘Cancer Conversations’ campaign, targeted to younger people and the pub-going community. The campaign aims to get people talking about cancer thereby helping to raise awareness so that symptoms can be checked out earlier leading to prompt treatment and increased survival rates. Cancer ConversationsThe summer campaign involves around 280 pubs throughout the Norfolk and Waveney area serving Adnams beers. The pubs have been supplied with beer mats which feature one of five hard-hitting questions about cancer. On the reverse is the answer and the opportunity to support Big C through a text donation. In addition, posters within the pubs will highlight the campaign and challenge people to share their experiences and knowledge in a friendly and sociable environment. You can follow the conversations on twitter using the hashtag #cancerconversations @bigctweets, on facebook bigccharity and Instagram @bigccharity and online big-c.co.uk On behalf of all of our charities, a big thank you for your continued support of Adnams and Pennies.
