Overall winner Mantis WorldOn the 6 July 2017, Adnams held our second Adnams Supplier Conference and Awards, following on from the success of the first of these in 2016, once again at the Enterprise Centre at the University of East Anglia. This event gives us a chance to talk to our suppliers about our plans for the coming years and also to allow them to share in our ideas. We welcomed representatives from over sixty suppliers from many parts of the world. The event was hosted on behalf of Adnams by Jonathan Wills from Anglia News and we had a number of presentations from business leaders such as Dr Andy Wood OBE, Adnams CEO, and Lynn Walters, Director of Pure Executive. The delegates were also treated to an enlightening presentation from our winner of the Supplier of the Year 2016, Mantis World, regarding the issues around clothing manufacturing and sourcing. Suppliers were also able to attend a number of workshops regarding subjects that have been raised during the year and also on subjects that would help our suppliers explore and learn more about. steve-barrett-at-supplier-conference The Supplier Awards took place in the afternoon, which is a great opportunity to reward suppliers who are most aligned with the Adnams values and who are thinking sustainably and finding innovative ways to develop. The overall winner of the 2017 Supplier Awards was Mantis World Clothing which supply all of the clothing items Adnams’ sells within our shops and online. Mantis World undertake a number of initiatives in and around its factories to ensure that they assist the local community as well as seeking to use recycled materials within their clothing materials. After another successful conference we have decided to run this bi-annually and so the next event will be held in 2019.   Many congratulations to our all of our finalists and winners. KTIB Insurance Brokers - Winner of the Pride & Passion Award The award is based on the values of around pride and passion in the workforce. Barrett’s Bees – Winner of the Sparkling Individuality Award The winner in this category has a buzzing personality! Steve goes out of his way to ensure his workers (the bees!) have the best possible accommodation! Olympus Print Group - Winner of the Refreshingly Responsible Award From its commitment to reuse the 350 tonnes of waste generated a year with 300 tonnes of this going to produce energy and the remaining being recycled, to moving its vehicles to hybrid, the winner of this award shares an ethos and business journey similar to Adnams. Mantis WorldWinner of the Integrity in all we do Award Mantis World – Adnams Supplier of the Year 2017 Our winner was selected for its strict code of conduct when it comes to producing its goods, ensuring that every aspect of what it does is executed as ethically as possible and the way it treats the people who work for them.
