Snow update

Snowy Southwold beach huts AdnamsUpdate: Friday 2nd March

Thanks to the determination of the gritter, snowplough drivers and helpful farmers, the main routes are now mostly cleared. Wednesday's deliveries did not leave our distribution centre in Reydon, but they have been picked up yesterday, along with Thursday's orders, and are now on their way out. Great stuff! All of our stores are now open, bar our Southwold Wine Shop on Pinkney's Lane, and our Saffron Walden store will be closing slightly earlier at 4:30pm today. A big thank you to everyone who has helped keep everything moving under these unusual conditions. Our brewery has not stopped brewing, despite some frozen malt and kegging lines, which means that no-one has had chance to build an Adnams snowman... next time!

Thursday 1st March:

Well, the weather forecasters were not wrong. We really have been hit by 'the beast from the east'. It started out as all good fun, but now the roads are blocked and we are into a much more serious situation. Today (Thursday) we are operating our brewery, distillery and offices with a skeleton crew, and at present we are unable to make any deliveries, so many apologies if you are waiting for a delivery from us or are struggling to get through on the phone. Many of our shops and pubs are still open, but some are closed or will be closing early today. Here is the latest situation with our stores (Thursday 1st March, 10am):

Southwold – open with a skeleton crew, café serving coffee and cake

Southwold Wine shop – closed

Harleston – closed, the road is blocked

Holkham – skeleton crew, open for now but road is blocked, the store will close at 1pm today

Holt – skeleton crew, open for now but road is blocked, the store will close at 2pm today

Hadleigh – open with skeleton crew will shut early

However, the following stores are all open: Woodbridge, Aldeburgh, Norwich Unthank Road, Norwich Westlegate, Saffron Walden, Stamford and Bury St Edmunds.

With weather conditions changing all the time, we advise that you to call our shops, pubs and hotels before you set out to make sure they are still open.

Brewery and Distillery Tours & Make Your Own Gin sessions in Southwold

If you are due to visit and wish to reschedule due to the weather then please leave a phone message on 01502 727225 or email and we will respond as quickly as we can. Don’t worry if we don’t get back to you straight away – we just need to know if you can't make it and we will get back to you as soon as we can to discuss your rescheduled date.

Ghost ship bottle on cannonBeat the snow - shop online and save £5

We're offering £5 off when you spend £30 or more online until midnight on Sunday 4th March. Just use code SNOW5 at the online checkout. Our delivery service will not be as swift as usual, as we are unable to get orders out today and will have a backlog to catch up on, but if you are in no rush then you may wish to stay out of the snow and enjoy delivery straight to your door. Stay safe and warm and enjoy the snow if you can!
