Helen Decker and Steve Cram just before the start of Adnams 10K runA huge thank you to all the runners and supporters who took part in last Sunday's Adnams 10K race which this year was held in support of The Adnams Charity and Suffolk Sports Aid Destination Gold project. Congratulations to the winner Carl Prewer, from the Lowestoft Roadrunners, who flew round the course in an amazing 34 minutes and 5 seconds. Hot on Carl's heels were Tim Topper (35.43) and Brad Jones (35.49). Great Britain Marathon runner Helen Decker (whose last race took place at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi) clocked a super time of 36.12. Abbie Thorrington, one of Adnams' sponsored 'Destination Gold' athletes, was the second fastest female securing her place in 41 minutes and 20 seconds. The race results are still provisional at this stage. The Adnams running team was bolstered by Olympic athlete Steve Cram, who decided he'd merely 'jog' round, but still came in 40th position - well done Steve! At the end of the race Steve amiably signed running shirts and smiled for photographs with delighted race finishers, displaying just why he's a such great ambassador for sport. Adnams' Finance Director, Stephen Pugh, was the fastest of the Adnams runners sweeping in at 43 minutes and 41 seconds. Thanks again to everyone who took part.   You can view some race photos on flickr, but more will follow soon.
