The Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival 2014

The Courtyard at Snape Maltings, Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival 2014If you love the very best of local food and drink then this two-day Festival at the stunning setting of Snape Maltings will be your idea of a heavenly weekend. Over one hundred of East Anglia's top producers are gathered together, alongside like-minded organisations such as the RSPB and Suffolk Coasts & Heaths AONB, to celebrate all that's great about our local area and its outstanding farmers and producers. Adnams is proud to sponsor the Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival again this year. Over much-loved Boat Bar is serving Southwold Bitter, Broadside, Fat Sprat, Jack Brand Mosaic and Dry Hopped Lager as well as a range of Adnams wines (including the delicious Prosecco) and spirits. The Adnams Beach Hut store is here too, selling a range of Adnams goodie for visitors to enjoy at home. Fergus and John fight it out, nicely of course! If you're coming to the Festival on Sunday, don't miss the competitive and fun taste-off betwen Adnams Wines (represented by Rob Chase, Fine Wine Manager), Beer (Head Brewer Fergus Fitzgerald) and Spirits (Distiller John McCarthy) on the Tiptree Stage at 2pm. Who will win your vote? Entry is free. Also on Sunday, there's the chance to attend a Beer and Bread Masterclass at the Festival Bakery at 11.30am. With so many natural ingredients in common, beer and bread have been made side-by-side for thousands of years. Join Adnams Master Brewer Fergus Fitzgerald and Jim Bishop, Founder of the Two Magpies Bakery, for a fascinating insight into the intertwined histories and synergies of brewing and baking. Tickets are £10 per person, including a goodie bag. (Sorry, tickets to this event are now sold out). Gates open at 10am on Sunday, but if you miss this year's Festival, you still have two more weeks to take part in one or more 'Fringe' events. Check out the Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival website for full details. You can view images from Saturday's Festival on Flickr.
