The Good Pub Guide Suffolk Dining Pub of the Year 2014Huge congratulations to the team at The Crown Hotel for winning The Good Pub Guide's County Dining Pub of the Year for 2014. Published today (Thursday 29th August) the Good Pub Guide is a staple handbook for all lovers of top quality pub food and drink. The County Dining Pub awards are always keenly contested, and the judges commented: "Comfortable hotel with relaxed bars, a fine choice of drinks, papers to read, excellent imaginative food and seats outside." Lukasz Juszczak, Manager of The Crown, comments: "We are incredibly proud of winning the Suffolk Dining Pub of the Year award for the second-year running. I'd like to thank our guests for voting for us and every member of our team, who make sure on a daily basis that we make our guests' dining experience a truly memorable one. This Award is a great addition to what Adnams has won this year, most notably Fergus winning the APPBG Brewer of the Year and our Copper House Distilled Gin winning the Gin Trophy and a Gold Outstanding medal in the International Wine and Spirits Competition. We look forward to seeing lots of you at the Crown, perhaps on one of our special events evenings." The Good Pub Guide 2014 cover imageWith regular feedback from 2,000 loyal correspondents, it's the pub-goers recommendations, backed up by editor inspections, that determine the winners. The authors of the Guide state: "Customers now demand - and receive - high-quality home-cooked food using the best, local and seasonal produce available. The food in the top dining pubs is certainly equal to that in the best restaurants, and often better… A great many customers prefer to eat in a pub rather than a restaurant because it's so much more informal, and with a working bar there's usually a cheerful, chatty atmosphere, too." The Good Pub Guide 2014 is published by Ebury Press at £15.99.
