The Norwich Bike Ride - helping to beat heart disease

By Sarah Groves, also posted in News on

British Heart Foundation Norwich 25 / 50 / 100 Bike Ride. Three riders along with 'hearty' at the Adnams Brewery. The streets of Norwich will fill with cyclists on Saturday 1st June for this year's British Heart Foundation Norwich Bike Ride. Last year the event was voted number 1 in The Independent’s 10 Best Cycling Events for 2012. Starting and finishing at Norwich Cathedral, cyclists have three distances to choose from - either 25, 50 or 100 miles. From Norwich, all routes head northwest towards the coast, the 25-mile route cutting east towards Coltishall and the 50-mile route past Blickling Hall. The 100-mile route heads to Holkham Hall on the North Norfolk coast, across to Sheringham, down to Mundesley then inland via Horstead and homeward to Norwich. Riders are encouraged to raise sponsorship money in addition to their entry fee to help fund the British Heart Foundation's life-saving research. Adnams is proud to support the ride, and we'll be at the finish line with a bar serving refreshing pints of Southwold Bitter or Spindrift, as well as soft drinks, to happy finishers and thirsty spectators. If you're not planning on taking part in the ride, please do come along to the start / finish line at Norwich Cathedral and show your support for the riders on the day.
