The Women's Tour (photo courtesy of The Women's Tour)The 2015 Aviva Women’s Tour will start off in Bury St Edmunds on Wednesday 17th June for Stage 1 of this exciting cycling competition. One hundred of the world’s top female cyclists will race across Suffolk covering 68.5 miles giving spectators plenty of opportunities to watch elite athletes compete. From the start at Bury, the route runs via Stowmarket, through the centre of Ipswich, Woodbridge (past our Adnams store!) through Snape, Saxmundham and on to Thorpeness where the riders will enjoy a spectacular finish along the coast road to Aldeburgh. The Adnams events team will be in the Market Place at Aldeburgh next to the hospitality area where we’ll be serving cask Ghost Ship and bottled Dry Hopped Lager as well as gin & tonics, vodka & tonics, Adnams House wine and Prosecco. Adnams 'bang-bang' sticksWe’ll also be handing out free Adnams bang-bang sticks to spectators. The events team will be handing them out around the finish area, but you can also pick up your bang-bang sticks from us at the bar. Make sure you collect yours before the riders come in just after 2pm so you can make lots of noise to encourage the cyclists over the finish line. There are many Tour and cycling-related events going on this weekend and leading up to the race on Wednesday. Find out more on the Suffolk Coastal website.
