We’re proud to be part of Great Get Together Pale Ale

The Great Get Together beers and pumpclipThis summer, on 16 – 18 June, the Jo Cox Foundation has joined with hundreds of partners nationwide to organise the biggest neighbourhood celebrations since the Jubilee street parties. It’s called The Great Get Together and it’s bringing people together with their neighbours to share food and drink and celebrate all that we hold in common. When an old mate of Brendan Cox, James, who runs a social enterprise beer company The Good Beer Co. said he thought it would be good to have a beer to help people celebrate, Brendan agreed enthusiastically. James then contacted Adnams and our Head Brewer, Fergus, contacted other breweries and something ground breaking happened. Adnams is proud to be part of a new beer, the Great Get Together Pale Ale, an unprecedented collective UK brewing industry effort to raise funds for the Jo Cox Foundation and support the Great Get Together. The Great Get Together pump clipIn keeping with the ideals of The Great Get Together, Great Get Together Pale Ale is a collective effort.  We’ve teamed up with Arkells, Cliff Quay, Elgoods, Fullers, Harviestoun, Joseph Holts, Joules, J W Lees, Marstons, Palmers, St Austell, Theakstons, Thornbridge and Woodfordes, and social enterprise, The Good Beer Co. to create a beer to help people across the UK enjoy their Great Get Togethers with family, friends, colleagues, neighbours and their local community. And we’re proud to sell the beer at our stores, online and in our pubs on cask (please note that the cask version has now sold out). We have also been supported in this brew by Simpsons Malt who are donating the malt for the beer, Charles Faram, who are donating the hops, OI, who are donating the glass for the bottles, Darleys Labels, who are covering the costs of labels and Colourscan, who are donating the pump clips for the cask beer. The profits from the Great Get Together Pale Ale will go to the Jo Cox Foundation. Funds raised will support their work to bring together communities across the UK in the spirit of Jo’s words: “we have far more in common than that which divides us.” For more information about The Great Get Together and a full list of where you can buy Great Get Together Pale Ale, click here.
