You've helped raise over £7K for the RNLI

By Jazelle, also posted in News on

The RNLI (or Royal National Lifeboat Institution) provides a life-saving service, protecting the coasts of UK and Channel Island beaches. The RNLI was founded in 1824 and since then has saved 141,500 lives. Today, the RNLI operates over 220 Lifeguard units with a total of 1,300 Lifeguards on patrol, covering a whopping 19,000 miles of coastline. The Suffolk coast plays a major role in our history and our company is still shaped by it today. That’s why Adnams proudly supports the RNLI by selling their Coastal Spring water at every chance we get. You can help fund the life-saving RNLI by purchasing their spring water direct from our retail stores, or in any of our Adnams pubs around the UK. Since 95% of the RNLI people are volunteers, one of the most important costs of keeping this service in operation is the training. Training a Lifeboat Crew Member costs £1569, that’s over £2-million to train all the lifeguards required to keep our coasts safe.

How much did we raise?

In total, our sales of Coastal Spring water have raised £7837.72 for the RNLI, which equates to any of the following:
  • 3 complete kits for Lifeboat Crew Members
  • 5 new Lifeboat Crew Members being trained
  • 10 Dry Suits, including the boots
  • 17 Life Jackets
  • 22 waterproof jackets
  • 29 helmets
  • 31 waterproof trousers
  • 34 Thermal Under Suits
  • 145 waterproof boots
  • 156 thermal tops
  • Or 391 pairs of gloves
Whichever way RNLI choose to use the funds raised, we’d like to say thank you to every visitor who has purchased Coastal Spring water, helping keep this service in operation to save more lives. As Simon Beale, Brand Manager at GFT Retail (producers of Coastal Spring) says: “on behalf of the RNLI and myself thank you so much for your support.” You can pick up your Coastal Spring water next time you’re in an Adnams store or pub. Don't forget to reuse your bottle to help us on our sustainable mission.
