For the second beer in our 2021 Sustainable Collaboration Series, we’ve joined forces with Harbour Brewing Co. in Cornwall. We both have a coastal connection, but the farm is Harbour’s home. This inspired us to brew Break Point, a straw-coloured farmhouse ale, in which land and sea collide.
Keen to embrace the farmhouse process, we worked with a kveik yeast strain, used in farmhouse brewing in Norway. We’ve created big waves of tropical fruit flavour, heightened by citrus Citra hops. There’s also a caramelised undercurrent from our local malted barley, and rye from our own Chairman’s farm just up the road.
Our sustainable commitment is that Adnams will remove plastic from all future collaborative can packaging, and where possible, all new products will launch in cardboard cartons rather than in shrink-wrapped trays.

For our second brew of the series, we’ve joined forces with Harbour Brewing Co. in Cornwall. While we both have a deep connection with the coast, the farm is Harbour’s home. This inspired us to brew Break Point, a farmhouse pale ale, in which land and sea collide.
As well as their main site, Harbour have a smaller brewhouse where they brew with local ingredients. It is in essence a farmhouse brewery. Keen to embrace the farmhouse process, we worked with a kveik yeast strain. Used in farmhouse brewing in Norway, kveik yeast is known for generating deep, fruity flavours and aromas as it ferments warm and quickly releases lots of fruity esters.
We’ve created big waves of tropical fruit flavour that are heightened by the addition of citrus Citra hops. The beer also has a light, biscuity balance, with a caramelised undercurrent, thanks to the addition of locally sourced malted barley and rye from our own Chairman’s farm just up the road from our brewery. The result is a juicy farmhouse pale, the colour of fresh straw.
