Explorer was the result of Head Brewer Fergus’s trips to the United States. Fergus was inspired to create a blonde beer using two American hops that are grown in the Yakima Valley in Washington. These hops, called Columbus and Chinook, add wonderful grapefruit flavours to the beer.
Contains gluten - barley
Adnams have some fantastic beers, I like them all but for me, explorer is the best beer I've ever tried. Perfect served chilled on any occasion.
I'm from Suffolk and am really proud to have such a great brewery on my doorstep, I've also lived all over the country and wherever I found myself it was always a massive bonus to find explorer on the shelves. Ghostship is explorers more popular younger brother and a great beer too, but for me, explorer is a better drop. I heard a rumour recently that Adnams are going discontinue explorer, I would implore them not to, as selfishly, it would be a great loss for me, but also for the beer drinking community at large. Perhaps it just needs a little bit more publicity, most people who enjoy Adnams that I've talked to haven't heard of it and that's a real shame as in my opinion it's the best beer in England.
All the best,
I tried to like Dry Hopped, honest I did, but it was no use. Anyway - who could possibly need lager in a world in which Explorer exists? It's excellent chilled; It's the same colour as lager and it has a depth of flavour that no lager (fizzy yellow water with a rusty twang) I've ever tasted comes close to. Ghost Ship may be the all-rounder but Explorer is my summer go to.
