Inspired by the sea it helps protect

Introducing Kobold, our premium English lager! Named after the legendary water spirit who protects sailors in the North Sea, Kobold is a 100% English lager with a refreshing taste and a mission to match.

Inspired by its namesake, Kobold supports marine conservation projects around the world through a partnership with Blue Marine Foundation. Together, we can help protect our seas, coastlines, and planet for everyone to enjoy.

This crisp 4.7% lager is created with all English ingredients including East Anglian malted barley and hops grown in Kent and Hertfordshire. We also use our Adnams' house ale yeast to add depth to lager's crisp flavours and ensuring Kobold has the true taste of an Adnams brew. Expect a golden lager with subtle grassy, lemon and honey notes. Pair with light tasting foods such as salads and sustainably sourced seafood.

Fergus Fitzgerald, Head Brewer at Adnams, says: “Using local ingredients was really important to us for making a truly English lager. We have some of the best malted barley in the world on our doorstep so it would be crazy not to use it. It’s unusual to use an ale yeast in a lager, but we wanted Kobold to be a true Adnams lager and using our house yeast was fundamental to making it part of the Adnams family.”
