Strong, but smooth and flavoursome.

I'm a big fan of Belgian beers. Not so of British brews. So I was intrigued by this beer when I saw it in the Adnams shop. I expected it to be a dreadful effort at a Belgian beer.

Well... Happy to report, I was wrong.

It's almost a cocktail more than a beer!.. so thick and full of layered flavours.

The Belgians are experts at making strong beer avoid the harsh bitter finish that can be present in British Ales. Adnams have achieved this beautifully. A lovely Honey sweetness and a warm richness with a warming finish brought on by the fermentation and high abv. I've had worse Belgians to be fair!.It's very drinkable.

So much so.. i just ordered another 10 bottles online... if it's a special edition beer... I'm grabbing it whilst I can. A tad expensive... but we only pass this way once. enjoy this beer.

Well done Adnams... The first Brit brewer that I've actually liked in a long time.

Oh... and try the 'Double Barrel' too....
