We have been working hard during the closure period in our pubs, hotels, and restaurants, leaving no pebble unturned as we ready ourselves for a clean and safe reopening. We are looking forward to welcoming guests back through our doors from Saturday 4th July at most of our managed and partner-operated properties located across Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and Cambridge. Please help us protect each other and our beautiful, coastal communities, which we are so lucky to call home.
We are very fortunate that our pubs and hotels benefit from great coastal and country locations, allowing you enjoy our open spaces, fresh air and sea breezes to relax and take a well-earned break from our current lives.
Our dining areas, bars, guestrooms, courtyards, and gardens are now all well-spaced to ensure you can easily socially distance, but still enjoy great hospitality.
Our hygiene and cleanliness standards have been revised and adapted to give you peace of mind and ensure that we are protecting all our guests, teams and the communities that surround and support us.
Table Bookings - To comply with current Government guidance:
INDOORS: Up to two households can be seated together, but must continue to socially distance at 1m+ from both the other household (if applicable), other customers and our teams.
Indoor table reservations are essential to avoid disappointment. This can be done by telephoning 01502 722186, or you can book online for single household tables up to 6 people at here.
OUTDOORS: Up to six individuals from different households can sit together, but must continue to socially distance at 1m+ from each other, other customers and our teams.
Outside tables cannot be reserved, as we just can’t trust the weather! If you have booked an indoors table and would prefer to sit outside, just let our team know on arrival. Otherwise, these tables are available on a first-come-first-served basis.
For all customers, we will require the contact details for the lead host of each table and will keep these safely on file for 21 days in order to assist NHS Test and Trace.
Food Ordering - You’ll be able to view our menus and order food and drink online, our team will also be around to help, suggest and take your order.
Arrivals and Check-Ins - You’ll be welcomed on arrival and shown to your table or checked into your room.
Social Distancing - Our capacities are reduced and only a certain number of people are allowed in The Swan at any one time to help you navigate your way around safely.
Cleaning - You’ll see our team wearing masks and gloves where required. You’ll see lots more hygiene measures in place to keep our beautiful hotel clean and safe. For staying guests, some soft furnishings and accessories have been removed from your room. If these are important to you, we can easily arrange them for you.
Butlers - Our Swan butlers are still on hand to help and assist you whenever necessary and are happy to help with any luggage to your room’s door.

Unfortunately, for the time-being, The Harbour Inn Southwold, The Crown Southwold and The Cross Keys Aldeburgh will remain closed.
Government guidance, best practise, assessment, and accreditation
We are following changing Government guidance in detail and working with our industry bodies to ensure we are exemplars of best practise within our industry and that we are reviewing and updating when necessary.
Our risk assessments and kitchen protocols have been amended and our teams have been trained on new policies. Our suppliers and maintenance contractors have been likewise communicated the standards we expect of them when visiting our properties. For complete transparency, please find below these documents so that, should you wish, you can take a look at them in more detail.
Our policies detail that if any of our team begins to show symptoms or are contacted by NHS Track and Trace, they will stop working immediately and we will inform all necessary others that this has happened. We would likewise ask all our guests to show the same cautionary approach.
