Fragrant cassis-like aromas on the nose and plenty of juicy black fruits on the palate.
This Cabernet is grown in the La Consulta sub-region of the Uco Valley in Mendoza. Situated about 3000m above sea level, the altitude brings a lovely freshness and soft supple texture to the wines of the area. The wine has about 6 months in French oak barrels for warmth and spice.
We would recommend pairing this delicious red with a Casserole and dumplings.
Pedro Angulo & Angel Innocenti were vineyard growers in their native Europe, Pedro in the Basque country and Angel in Tuscany. They immigrated to Argentina in the late 19th century. Today, 3rd & 4th generation family members run the estate. The 'Nonni' range of wines are a homage to their great grandfathers.
I was rather disappointed with this Cabinet Sauvignon. I didn't find the flavour anything special, and probably would not have recognised it as a Cabinet if I was blind tasting it.
It's an ok wine, which will probably end up more in cooking sauces than being drunk in a glass.
