Delicate fine bubbles with a golden colour and slight blush tint, this is a vibrant and zippy sparkling wine with flavours of tangy baked apples. Curving off the finish with a plump, creamy mouth-feel and a biscuity complexity.
England has the perfect climate and soils for producing top-quality sparkling wines. Made by traditional method with ageing on lees for a minimum of 30 months, this Classic Cuvée is a blend of Pinot Noir (81%) and Chardonnay (19%). The grapes were carefully hand-picked and whole-cluster pressed, with only the best press cuttings going into the wine.
I was slow to accept that this fine island could produce such fantastic sparkling wines. I was recently in the Norwich Unthank store and they had this on taste. It was absolutely superb, everything you would want from a classic Champagne and more. The acidity is refreshing, the vibrant apple flavour is right there. I'll be getting a couple of bottles for Christmas.
