Picpoul is a variety that’s making a name for itself in the UK, and this wine is a perfect example of why. Lively, fresh with lemony and floral touches. This light and delicate wine has alluring aromas of acacia and hawthorn blossom, and flavours of crunchy green apples, with a burst of citrus fruit.
Picpoul can be on the pricier side, but here we’ve worked closely with the JeanJean family to offer a delicious wine at a superb price. Over 5 generations the JeanJean family have played an active role in the Languedoc winemaking legacy, helping mould the reputation it enjoys today.
The grapes used for this Picpoul de Pinet are grown on warm limestone and sandy soils, bathed in glorious sunshine and tempered by cooling breezes from the Mediterranean sea. This results in a light, but concentrated cleansing finish. It’s a wine that was designed to be shared, but we wouldn’t blame you if you chose not to.
Since 1870 and over 5 generations, the Jean Jean family has played an active role in Languedoc winemaking history. Across seven estates, a diverse range of uniquely styled wines with great aromatic intensity are produced. Each bottle is an invitation to discover the wealth and diversity of the land and – inline with the family’s values – made for sharing.
Wine is of consistent good quality, as you would expect from Adnams. There hasn’t been any over promise on delivery times. And the customer service was fantastic when I inadvertently ordered a case to my old address. Keep up the good work on all fronts! 🙏🏻
OK wine at a reasonable price, delivered promptly. However, in a doomed attempt to control my intake of alcohol I only order wines of ABV 12.5% or less. This is described as 12.5%. When it arrived it turned out to be 13%. Not the first time this has happened with Adnams, and they have been told more than once.
A citric missile of a white, the perfect aperitif
"This has bright flavours of lemon and herbs and a creamy texture. It's ideal for large gatherings or pre-meal nibbles."
There’s lovely richness here with some melon and pear, as well as a bit of lemon. It has some depth, with yellow fruits to the fore, and finishes with nice brightness.
