An outstanding Grand Cru wine from the ever popular village of Saint-Émilion. A pronounced wine on the nose with hints of ripe cherry fruits. Structured and firm on the palate with excellent length and depth of flavour.
At Chateau Puy Blanquet, the yields are quite high, at close to 50 hectoliters per hectare. The vineyard is machine harvested. The wine of Chateau Puy Blanquet is vinified in traditional, tall, rectangular shaped, cement vats. Malolactic fermentation takes place in vat. The wine is aged in a combination of vats and mostly used French oak barrels. This is divided as follows, 80% of the production is aged in vat, while 20% of the wine is aged in 10% new French, oak barrels for between 12 to 14 months prior to bottling.
