This wine is made from low yielding Garnacha vines in the plain to the south of the river Ebro. Grown in poor soils in a dry northern Mediterranean climate, the grapes achieve full ripeness toward the end of September. The flavour of fresh fruit is key, with a rich, full mouth feel but low astringency.
Grown by the family-run Esteban Martin winery in the Cariñena region; one of the oldest appellations in Europe, where winemaking can be traced back to Roman times. The region was awarded DO status in 1932 and wine provides a source of great pride to the region. Located at the foot of the Iberian Range, with extreme temperature fluctuations of cold winters and hot, dry summers; the resulting wines present great personality and character. The family strives for excellence; only using grapes on their own plots – meaning it is possible for the whole team to monitor all processes.
