La Maison Romane Château de Berzé Mâcon is harvested manually, and an initial selection of bunches is made in the field and then a subsequent one in the cellar. Once the best bunches have been selected, they are completely covered and the alcoholic fermentation begins spontaneously with native yeasts, without any commercial yeasts being added. Lastly, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 15 to 19 months to polish it.
La Maison Romane Château de Berzé Mâcon is a biodynamic red wine from Mâcon that is complex on the nose and with touches of a well-integrated ageing.
La Maison Romane is a young winery founded in 2005 and run by Oronce de Beler. It is installed in an old 16th century house in Vosné Romanée, in Burgundy. It buys grapes that it pays for with work performed in the vineyard, such as, for example, ploughing the land with its Percherón horses. It does not use chemicals in the field and follows the principles of biodynamics to produce the wine and farm the terroir. It vinifies following the phases of the moon and working by gravity at all times, without any mechanical pumping that might alter the wines.
