Pecorino is a grape variety unique to central Italy. It shares its name with the local ewe’s milk cheese (Pecora means ‘sheep’ in Italian) and herds of sheep can often be found happily grazing in the vineyards. This punchy wine is grown on the hillsides of Chieti, and is bright and zesty with delicious exotic fruit flavours.
Perfect with lighter dishes of fish and seafood.
Locals proclaim Pecorino was named after the local sheep that used to graze on the grapes, however, we like to think the shape of the grape bunches looks like a sheep's head. Either way, it's a very tasty glassful!
Contains sulphites. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Pecorino is a superb variety and this wine is the perfect example of what it should taste like. Bought a case last week, and will need to get another as it's far too drinkable.
