Blossoming with bright wines

As the evenings getting lighter so should our wines as we pair them with our favourite spring dishes.

The Guillaume Auréle Pinot Noir is new to our range this year and boasts deep morello cherry aromas with hints of violet. A beautifully light wine with a rounded mouthfeel and lots of fruit flavours on the palate.

Pretty salmon pink in colour, Adnams English Rosé displays the delicate perfume of rose petal and strawberries and cream. There is smooth texture on the palate highlighting it elegance and freshness driven by its juicy acidity. With fresh citrus and flowery aromas, this wine has a crisp and fresh taste and leaves a spicy finish on the palate.

With an appealing nose of apples and fresh citrus, as well as rosewood, green peas and asparagus, Adnams Grüner Veltliner fresh and crisp, sappy fruit on the palate followed by a hint of minerals.

Finest Spring Wine Case

The grapes for Guillaume Auréle Pinot Noir are macerated traditionally for between 30 and 35 days to gain optimum flavour componants and tannins. Fermentation is monitored between 20 - 25°C and includes micro-oxygenation to further aid extraction of colour, tannin and flavour. Malolactic fermentation occurs in stainless steel vats. The resulting wine is aged on its fine lees for 2 months before bottling.

Adnams English Rosé  is produced with grapes grown locally in the Crouch Valley in East Anglia on gentle sloping vineyards close to the Crouch River, less than 100 miles away from Southwold. Essex has the highest growing season temperatures and the lowest rainfall in the UK; combined with the soil conditions there makes for near-perfect growing conditions.

Willi Bründlmayer is one of the true pioneers of Austrian wine and Grüner Veltliner. His vineyards are located in the beautiful Langenlois area, some 70 km north-west of Vienna, upstream along the Danube in the Lower Austrian Kamp Valley.
