Like Adnams, Sopla Poniente’s reputation is built on its relationships. We both search for hidden treasures, the unique and the exceptional. That’s why it felt fitting to partner on a collection of Montilla-Morilles for the Adnams Estate Range. Pepe Rodríguez de Vera has sourced the finest Andalusian wines for the project, made from Pedro Ximenez grapes, which are traditional to the region. Sun-dried Pedro Ximenez grapes create an intense sweetness. It is deep brown in colour, with the luscious complexity of dried fruit, raisins, cinnamon, and dark chocolate.

Description

Adnams collaboration with Sopla Poniente led us to discover our new range of Fortified wines from the historic Montilla-Moriles region. Crafted by the legendary Bodegas del Pino who have been producing fortified wines since 1935, where their craftsmanship and tradition are combined with modern technology and innovation. Please note this wine will come with a teal wax seal.

How does it taste

Full bodied delicious sweetness, without cloying. Intense aromas of dried figs and raisins, with a long nutty and dried fruit character.

Great sherry

Very sweet and smooth sherry, made a nice change from the usual well known brands. Not cheap but well worth it as a treat, the bottle was gone in no time.
