Adnams Nut Brown Ale

By Sarah Groves, also posted in News on

Adnams Nut Brown pump clipWho remembers Nut Brown?! It was delivered to pubs by dray (geddit?!)*. Rebrewed this year, our new beer is based on our original Nut Brown recipe but brewed with modern, refreshing hop varieties. It’s the colour of a freshly-cracked nut with flavours of gooseberries, caramel & malt. Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, it's a brown ale with aromas of gooseberries, pine, toasted malt and caramel, and on the palate there’s brown sugar balanced with a fresh bitterness alongside orange and fresh bread notes. Enjoy on its own or pair with grilled red meats or hard cheeses. Sounds tasty; you'd be nuts not to try it! Adnams Nut Brown is available in pubs and bars in cask during September / October. Nut Brown will be available in 8-pint mini casks in our stores from Wednesday 30th August at £17.99 each and £32 for a twin-pack online.

The facts...

Style: Brown Ale ABV: 4% Colour: Nut Brown IBU: 44 Malts: Pale ale malt, brown malt, crystal malt, oats Hops: Jester, Amarillo, Nelson Sauvin Allergens: Contains gluten (wheat & barley). Does not contain squirrels, or nuts...   *For the 99.99% of you who didn't get the joke (sorry), a 'dray' is a name for a vehicle that delivers beer and also, by a very happy coincidence, is the name of a squirrel's nest (sometimes spelt drey).
